We men are obsessed with women's orgasms. We know it, they know it, everyone knows it. Did she fake it? Was it good? Did she come once or twice, etc. Sadly, only the lady herself knows for sure and even then it depends on a lot of things.
Researchers at the University of Leeds and University of Central Lancashire asked 71 sexually active and orgasmic women to fill out a questionnaire regarding frequency of orgasm, intensity of vocalization (screaming, moaning), frequency of vocalization and reasons for making noise during sex. They found that there was a correlation between vocalization and orgasm during foreplay and afterplay but not during sex. It shows that women do sometimes control the sounds of pleasure but only during penetrative sex. 80% of women who knew they were not going to orgasm during sex said they made vocalizations as their partner finished.
The women claimed that they did so because of boredom, ending discomfort and for saving time. It's also possible that it strengthens the bond between them.
